101 was full of scenic ocean views and beaches, sand dunes, elk, and then the redwood forest. We were surprised by the scenic drive on route 5 as we saw a lot of hills, mountains, among them mt. shasta which was enormous and gorgeous.

Our Trip Drive
Our drive was pretty amazing both on the way down and back up. We took route 101 on the way down and then drove North on Route 5 on the way back home.
101 was full of scenic ocean views and beaches, sand dunes, elk, and then the redwood forest. We were surprised by the scenic drive on route 5 as we saw a lot of hills, mountains, among them mt. shasta which was enormous and gorgeous.
