Adventure weekend

Our plan was to go to port Angeles stay the night and then head to Victoria bc. Well I ignored thw advice of Dustin and Stephanie saying to leave Dallas behind it will make the trip easier...but I felt like I have been working too much lately and missed monster so I wanted to spend time with him and take him to the beaches. Well it turned out I was wrong and so Victoria was going to end up being a lot harder to manage so we went to port Angeles. Stopped at the KOA to tent camp and it was pouring rain. The camp owner came over- since it is the end of the season and they are closing campgrounds everywhere November 1st and we were the only crazy tent campers they offered us a little cabin for no extra fee. Soo nice and there was a bed and heater inside which is all we needed. Dallas loved the bed and snuggled me all night long.
So we get to the town of port Angeles and stop for lunch and decide on our plan. We both decide we should come back another time without the monster and just take a day trip over on the ferry rather than try to take the truck and camp and sightsee with monster. So we head out of town on the western part of Washington. We stopped at a local winery to try some samples and bought a bottle of raspberry wine which was not sweet but really refreshing. Then continued our trip through the windy roads and woodand stopped at some pebble beaches. Around 5:00 we realized that we still had a good 5 hour drive left and we ended up pulling over at kalaloch lodge in Olympic national park. We asked about cabin pricing for the night and they gave us a crazy low price for the night in a one bedroom cabin, pet friendly and this lodge was on the ledge over the beach. So we took it and it was the best decision we made all weekend. Dallas loved the cabin and the bed of course. We made a fire, ate some good local food and walked on the driftwood beach. Dallas was happy and loved the wood stove. We headed home this morning and are excited to see gooner soon.
We had our cute neighbors watch her this time and they were all excited to hang ok it with her. They talked about stopping over a bunch of times throughout the day to play with her and make sure she was okay. So we felt good about leaving her behind this time. She would have loved the two cabins and the drive though so maybe one day we will take her along again.
